Website of the Day: Waste Free Holidays November 25, 2007

I have enough stuff so, please, for Christmas, don’t buy me things. As a matter of fact, when we downsized, we got rid of a lot of stuff. I am not a fan of storing household items in boxes in a garage or in a storage unit, either. Once you start doing that, you might as well get rid of it because you’re not going to use it anyway. I’m not talking about seasonal things, here. I’m talking about old books, dishes you don’t use, clothes that don’t fit anymore, the bike your kid outgrew, or that tennis racket you haven’t used in 20 years (okay I still have that one).

I have given and asked for gift certificates so appreciate the discounts available on the Waste Free Holidays website. You can purchase discounted tickets and gift certificates for concerts, plays, sporting events, recreation, museums, restaurants, spa treatments and more. King County Solid Waste Division and Seattle Public Utilities sponsor the King County Waste Free Holiday program. The City of Tacoma as well as Kitsap County and Thurston County also have Waste Free Holiday programs.

    Such a topical issue.
I hope more people will be more ‘green’ this Christmas!
