TIME.com just published their 50 Best Websites of 2008. There are a handful that are environmentally related, such as Afrigadget, Kiva.org, FreeRice, GasBuddy, and Carbonrally.
My pick to include in the top 50 would be TED: Ideas Worth Spreading for a website with more meat on its bones.
I got a kick out of Rate My Professors. Mainly because my husband’s son is a college chemistry professor and I got to peek at his ratings. Many of the students who gave him a 5 rating also rated him as hot! Must be some kind of connection. Hmm…
Mint, an online financial planner and Picnik, a website with free photo-editing, look promising. I love TinyURL. I didn’t even think about using their website outside of Twitter!
I’m not sure why Yahoo! Answers made the list. I rarely find an intelligible answer there. And NexTag is a drag. I find better deals on my own.
They’ve also set up a Tumblr feed, linked on TIME.com, to keep a running log of new suggestions from bloggers.

Welcome to Verda Vivo. My name is Daryl Warner Laux.

I was a regular tinyurl user until about six months ago, when I saw Ron Paul banners all over the site. I’ve switched over to http://is.gd — shorter is good, especially on twitter!
Absolutely, shorter is better. I really like http://is.gd. I compared two web addresses and is.gd definitely made the url shorter by far. Thanks for the heads up! ~ Daryl
