Why I won’t shop on Black Friday. Shame on all of us, every one. The media who hype Black Friday like it is the biggest event of the year. Stores who open earlier and earlier to get the jump on sales. Shoppers who will literally kill to get a bargain. It just proves that the almighty dollar is, indeed, worth more than a human life. My condolences to the family of Jdimytai Damour this holiday season.

Welcome to Verda Vivo. My name is Daryl Warner Laux.

I saw that on a French newspaper this afternoon… that’s crazy. So eager to spend the hard earned money…
Greed…. the quote from Gandhi is plain right, and you are right in putting it on your sidebar:
There is a sufficiency in the world for man’s need but not for man’s greed. ~Mohandas K. Gandhi
Gandhi’s writing and philosophy always had appeal to me. Such a great thinker and leader. I hope we will have one like this soon…
Keep it up Daryl !
The sad part is that people were angry that the store closed due to the man’s death. They did not seem to care that this man died. How would they have felt if it was their son or father, brother or cousin, uncle or friend? Either we are inured to violence and death that when we see it with our own eyes we cannot grasp what it really means or we are so consumed with greed, so self-centered that the life of someone who is not close to us matters nothing at all. We could use another Gandhi to remind us of what is truly important. ~ Daryl
